Examination schedule, rules, and results at St. Xavier's College, Burdwan

EXAMINATIONS

St. Xavier's College, Burdwan conducts examinations as per the schedule set by the University of Burdwan and the college's internal assessment framework.

TYPES OF EXAMINATIONS

Mid-Semester Examinations


Mid-semester examinations are conducted at the midpoint of each semester to assess students' understanding of the syllabus covered so far.

• Conducted in the 8th-9th week of each semester
• Covers 50% of the syllabus
• Carries 15 marks (part of 30-mark internal assessment)
• Compulsory for all students

End-Semester Examinations


End-semester examinations are the main university examinations conducted at the end of each semester.

• Conducted by the University of Burdwan
• Covers the complete syllabus
• Carries 70 marks (theory) + practical marks where applicable
• Minimum passing marks: 28 out of 70 (40%)

Internal Assessment (30 Marks)


• Mid-semester test: 15 marks
• Assignments/seminars/projects: 10 marks
• Attendance: 5 marks

EXAMINATION RULES

• Students must carry their college ID card to the examination hall
• Mobile phones and electronic devices are strictly prohibited
• Students must report 15 minutes before the examination
• Malpractice will result in cancellation of the paper and disciplinary action
• Minimum 75% attendance required to appear in examinations
