Students' Council — St. Xavier's College, Burdwan

The Students' Council of St. Xavier's College, Burdwan is the elected representative body of the student community, serving as the democratic bridge between students and the college administration.

Role & Responsibilities

Represents student interests to the college administration and faculty
Organises and coordinates major college events
Facilitates communication between student bodies and management
Resolves student grievances through proper institutional channels
Promotes discipline and harmony within the student community
Supports college initiatives in academics, social service, and sustainability

Elections & Composition

Elected annually per Lyngdoh Committee recommendations. Positions include:

General Secretary — head of the Students' Council
Assistant General Secretary
Cultural Secretary
Sports Secretary
Class Representatives from each department and year

All enrolled students are eligible to vote and stand for election.

Structure

The Students Council comprises elected representatives from each department, headed by the General Secretary. Elections are conducted annually under the supervision of the Election Committee.
