Space Technology for Education

St. Xavier's College, Burdwan is a participating centre of the Indian Institute of Remote Sensing (IIRS), Dehradun, under the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), for the EDUSAT Outreach Programme.

About the Programme:

The IIRS Outreach Programme is an initiative by ISRO to impart knowledge on remote sensing, GIS (Geographic Information Systems), GPS technology, and related geospatial sciences through satellite-based distance learning (EDUSAT). The programme is designed for college students, researchers, and professionals.

Objectives:

To spread awareness and knowledge of space technology and its applications
To provide access to high-quality learning resources in remote sensing and GIS
To build capacity among students and faculty in geospatial technologies

Programme Features:

Live and recorded lectures by ISRO scientists and experts from IIRS, Dehradun
Topics covering satellite remote sensing, digital image processing, GIS applications, GPS and GNSS
Interactive sessions with real-time Q&A with IIRS faculty
Completion certificates awarded to successful participants

Participation:

Students and faculty of St. Xavier's College, Burdwan can attend the programme through the college's EDUSAT receiving facility. The Geography department coordinates participation.

SWAYAM/MOOCs:
