X-Eve Women's Cell — St. Xavier's College, Burdwan

X-Eve is the Social Outreach segment of St. Xavier's College, Burdwan dedicated to empowering and orienting women to recognize their true potential. The X-EVE cell was constituted in 2018-2019 with the motto:

> "Of the Women, by the Women, for Mankind."

Objectives

Women Empowerment & Gender Equality: Creating a gender-sensitised community within campus and in the broader society
Women's Safety & Security: Awareness about women's rights and self-defence training
Women's Health & Well-being: Addressing reproductive health, mental health, and menstrual health while combating taboos
Combating Discrimination: Addressing discriminations due to superstitions, prejudice, and taboos
Community Outreach: Extending empowerment initiatives to surrounding communities

Key Activities

Gender sensitisation workshops for students and faculty
Health awareness programmes including menstrual health workshops and medical talks
Self-defence training sessions for women students
Awareness campaigns against gender-based violence, trafficking, and dowry
Cultural programmes celebrating women's achievements
Inter-college events promoting gender equality
Community outreach to rural women in Burdwan district

Objectives

Working towards promoting gender equality and empowering women in different aspects of life
Addressing issues related to women's safety and security — creating awareness about women's rights, training defence mechanisms
Addressing women's health and well-being, including reproductive health, maternal health, mental health, menstrual health
Addressing discriminations faced by women due to superstitions, prejudice, and taboos
Creating a gender sensitized community within the campus and in the community at large
