RESEARCH POLICY

St. Xavier's College, Burdwan has a comprehensive research policy that promotes ethical, rigorous, and impactful research across all disciplines.

OBJECTIVES

  • Promote a culture of research and innovation among faculty and students

  • Ensure ethical standards in all research activities

  • Support interdisciplinary and collaborative research

  • Facilitate publication and dissemination of research findings

  • Encourage funded research projects from national agencies


RESEARCH ETHICS

  • All research must adhere to ethical guidelines

  • Plagiarism is strictly prohibited

  • Data integrity and transparency are mandatory

  • Informed consent required for human subject research

  • Proper attribution and citation practices


FUNDING SUPPORT

The college supports faculty in applying for research grants from:

  • University Grants Commission (UGC)

  • Department of Science and Technology (DST)

  • Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR)

  • Department of Biotechnology (DBT)

  • Other national and international funding agencies


RESEARCH COMMITTEE

The Research Committee, under the IQAC, oversees all research activities, reviews proposals, and ensures compliance with the research policy.
