ABOUT UGC
The University Grants Commission (UGC) is a statutory body established by the Government of India in 1956 under the UGC Act. It is responsible for coordinating, determining, and maintaining standards of higher education in India.
St. Xavier's College, Burdwan is recognized by UGC under Section 2(f) and 12(B) of the UGC Act, 1956, and has been granted Autonomous Status by UGC in 2026.
