St. Xavier’s College, Burdwan Central Library is now inclusive of KiboXS device. Kibo XS device is user friendly and convenient for the use of visually impaired users of the Library. Kibo XS Device can scan printed and handwritten documents to listen, translate, digitize and can audio’tize the same to MP3 format in human-like natural sounding voices.
Features of Kibo XS Device:
•Multi-Language Support: The device can scan printed and handwritten documents and read them aloud in 12 Indian languages and across 60 global languages.
• Digitization and Translation: The device can scan and convert printed and written documents into editable Unicode formats like Doc, Docx and Txt and can translate text across 100+ languages.
• Text-to-Speech Technology: The device can scan and convert printed and written text into human-like natural sounding MP3 audible speech and enables users to read books, articles and other documents independently.
• Optical Character Recognition (OCR): The device quickly scans and recognizes text from a document or book placed under the Kibo XS Camera which can be read aloud into audio MP3 format and can be saved or listened for future reference.
• Tactile Controls: The device includes tactile buttons for easy navigation and operation, especially for visually impaired users.
• Integrated Audio Controls: With convenient audio control system, users can adjust the speech speed i.e the text is read aloud can be changed to suit user preference and can adjust the playback volume and even have the ability to select different preferred text-to-speech (TTS) voices to personalize their reading experience.
• Lightweight and portable: The Kibo XS device is designed to be lightweight and compact for easy carrying by the students around the Library.
• Kibo Cloud Storage: The device allow users to access and process documents anytime, anywhere with unlimited cloud storage through Kibo Cloud Sync.
