About
The Electoral Literacy Club is a platform to engage college students through interesting activities and hands-on experience to sensitise them on their electoral rights and familiarize them with the electoral process of registration and voting. Through ELC, Election Commission of India, aims at strengthening the cultureof electoral participation among young and future voters.
AIM
The Electoral Literacy Club in SXC-B aims to sensitize students about electoral system of the country and create awareness among them regarding the various facets and working of the electoral process and will help them to become informed citizens.
Mission
This club's mission is to educate and inform students about their democratic rights. To educate the young population about their voter registration, electoral process and matters related to a conduct of fair and orderly election process. To foster a culture of democratic living, and equality to propagate ethical voting, and to adhere to the principles of 'Every vote counts' and 'No Voter is Left Behind'.
VISION
To make its utmost contribution to have an active democratic citizenry originating in integrated civic and voter education and electoral participation right from a young age.
Objectives
In furtherance of this vision, the Electoral Literacy Club shall be established at our college with the following objectives:
I. To educate the targeted populations about voter registration, electoral process and related matters through hands on experience;
II. To facilitate EVM and VVPAT familiarization and education about the robustness of EVM as well as the integrity of the electoral process using EVMs;
III. To help the target audience understand the value of their vote and exercise their right to franchise in a confident, comfortable and ethical manner;
IV. To harness the potential of ELC members for carrying the electoral literacy in communities;
V. To facilitate voter registration for its eligible members who are not yet registered;

Activities
The ELC engages in various events and activities like Rallies, campaigns, demonstrations, street plays, flash mobs etc. in and around the college campus and the vicinity area to raise awareness andmotivate voters to actively participate in theelectoral processes in their constituencies.
Committee composition
The ELC is headed by an appointed Nodal Officer along with other members from various departments.
Target Group
The ELCs is an inclusive club that ensures the participation of students from all departments of the college between the age group 18-21.
